Dr. Maria Mick, VMD

Biography

Dr. Maria Mick attended Drexel University for her Bachelor of Science degree in 2016 and went on to complete her Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris (VMD) at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2020. Her areas of professional interest include exotics, behavior, hospice and palliative care. Dr. Mick began working in the veterinary field in 2012 as a veterinary assistant. Being a veterinarian allows her to combine all three of her passions: a strong interest in medicine, a passion for animals, and a love for helping people.

Dr. Mick grew up in Telford, PA and currently lives in Center City, Philadelphia. Her pets include 3 cats, Winky, Stubby, and Frankie Foo; iguana, Barbie; anole, Cannoli; two turtles, Princess and Happy; axolotl, Charcoal; goldfish, Fishy; six hermit crabs, Curly, Burly, Lob, Miss Krabby, Bo, and Lo; and a Goffin cockatoo, Amber. When she is not practicing veterinary medicine, she enjoys exploring Philly, trying new restaurants, playing piano, and going to zoos and aquariums.

Dr. Mick says the best part of working in the veterinary field is helping different kinds of species. She loves how her attention can go from a dog, to a lizard, to a parrot, to an armadillo all in the same workday! She also enjoys how general practice can help her to develop close relationships with the owners and their pets.
